A Celebration of Interconnection This year’s celebration holds special significance as 2025 marks the 800th anniversary of The Canticle of the Creatures—the sacred hymn written by Saint Francis of Assisi in 1225, praising God through Brother Sun, Sister Moon, and all elements of creation. This year’s festival celebrates the interconnection of all things and the Franciscan call to live in gratitude, simplicity, and joy. Guests are invited to encounter beauty not only through art and music but through nature and one another. “St. Francis composed The Canticle of the Creatures 800 years ago, inspired by the beauty of creation,” said Fr. Mario Serrano, OFM Conv. Join us for MountFest, where the beauty of the earth meets the creativity of the human spirit. Come and experience a day filled with music, art, crafts, and the Franciscan spirit at Mount St. Francis.”
A Word from the Friars MountFest reflects the heart of the community that gathers at Mount Saint Francis throughout the year. “The Mount is a place of welcome for all, and MountFest brings that spirit into full bloom,” said Fr. Vince Petersen, OFM Conv., director of the Franciscan Art and Earth Care Initiatives, “It’s a day where the arts, our care for creation, and our love for God meet in one joyful celebration.” The festival weaves together art, faith and nature into an experience that both honors tradition and invites new connections. The Franciscan Friars look forward to greeting each guest and sharing in a day that celebrates the goodness and beauty that unite us.
