General Summary: The Salad Prep/Dishwasher will work alongside our hardworking Executive Chef on several critical tasks including but not limited to collecting used dishes, plates, and utensils, loading the dish washing machine, and stacking washed items appropriately. They will help prepare menu items i.e. Salads etc. in the direction of the Executive Chef.
Days and Hours will vary up to 24 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas.
Load and unload dishwashing machine.
Wash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots/pans).
Store clean dishes, glasses, and equipment appropriately.
Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses, and utensils, especially during peak hours.
Check dishwasher operation and promptly report any technical performance issues.
Remove garbage regularly.
Regularly sanitize and wash the kitchen area, including the floor.
Help prepare menu items i.e. Salads according to instructions by the Executive Chef.
Identifies when a product does not meet quality standards & resolves the issue before bringing product to guests.
Assists with food preparation assignments during off-peak periods.
Mop dining room floor as directed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Must be able to stand for 8 hours, with frequent bending, kneeling, and squatting.
Ability to work alone or with others.
Ability to make independent decisions. Must be able to lift/push/pull objects weighing 35lbs.
