sanctuary for your Soul
Each autumn, when the nights grow long and the forest quiets, the owls begin their hidden song. Join us at Mount Saint Francis for the 5th Annual Owl Prowl, an evening of wonder, learning, and reverence for the creatures who remind us of God’s mystery and beauty.
Joining us:
6:00 PM – Dinner Together
7:00 PM – Live Owl Presentation from Jared Everett, who is the Interpretive Naturalist at Hardy Lake Raptor Center. Join Jared as he introduces his feathered friends up close in an engaging and educational encounter.
8:00 PM – Guided Night Hike & Bonfire with naturalists Rod Goforth and Del Striegel, listening for owls and other nocturnal life. We’ll end the evening gathered around a bonfire with s’mores!
For St. Francis of Assisi, all creatures were brothers and sisters, bound together in the family of God’s creation. He preached not only to people but also to birds, reminding us that animals are teachers of simplicity, presence, and praise.
“All praise be Yours, my Lord, through all Your creatures."
